Is it recommeded installing these? I've always had a "ATI knows best" attitude when it came to my drivers :P What's your experience with these?

I haven't had any  issues with either of the drivers. Currently I'm using an Nvidia card and I've not had any issues. I also have a Radeon X800 Pro and used to Omega Drivers without any issues. FYI, the Omega drivers are tweaked by a programmer who works for ATi, I recommend using those if you have an ATi card.

I'm not dude. There haven't been any releases from ATi  :'(
FYI, I'm a ATi fanboy trapped under a nvidia 8500GT.  :D

I loved my Radeon 8500LE and X800 Pro.  :-*

New nVidia drivers are up, still nothing from ATi. They should release something by next week.

Yes, it will work with your X1800 XT.
The Omega drivers are tweaked for extra performance and does not use the Catalyst Control Center (less memory wasted, CCC = p00). Don't worry about quality, the dude is an ATi driver programmer.

If you have an ATI card I strongly recommend the Omega drivers over the other. Currently there is no Vista support! So if you're on Vista you'll have to use the Official drivers.

Don't expect to see some insane performance boost but they shud perform better than the Cats. Which game are you looking for performance? Don't say Crysis because only god can help you there :D
